This nice looking item is in very good condition inside with the original gold colour, the painted words and scrolling still perfect. It has the words WITH BEST WISHES FROM THE SOUTH AFRICAN GIFTS AND COMFORTS COMMITEE CHRISTAMS 1940. Its has the same words in Afrikaans next to it. The out side is a bit bashed there is a dent noticable on the inside the features of Gen Smuts has some scratchs. The paint has been rubbed of on the side and the edges. The hinges still in very good condition.
